the people that i work with are like family to me.
whether they've been there for years [like ME!] or months.


one of our bartenders, jeannie [who is also a dancer for the sacramento kings, haha] has been having issues with her boyfriend & she's been talking to me about it all.
i think she feels reassured because she knows i won't judge her & the way she feels, but i just always listen.
the strangest part, to me, is that she's 31 years old & mind you, she looks about freaking 20, but nonetheless, she seeks out my thoughts & i'm ten years younger.

today, i was talking to her about change & how people DON'T change for people.
she says that she's convinced that he'll never change the main things that she wants him to.

the most peculiar part of it all is that when i talk to her about it, i'm learning things about myself, too.
i was like, you should be able to love someone WITH every flaw that they have; you should fall in love WITH their flaws & embrace them, not wanting change.
THAT'S love.


you'd think with all of this "incredible" advice that i'm always handing out, that i'd be one of those successfully in love gals.
gah, either way, at least i'm making a difference in somebody's life:]

i'm officially exhausted.

i've also discovered this aggravating canker sore on the right side of my tongue; how awkward.



we got facials tonight.

Went out to Simi Valley with Amber & Marc, nice time. We visited stores where I held back from spending, ate Thai food & then sat by a fountain full of giant koi fish, so peaceful. This past evening we drank 3 pitchers of beer at BJ's & talked about the 90's. Oh being a kid in the 90's was so fun, minus that feeling of rushing childhood to grow up. All our favorite shows came up, & how we dressed, all the decades' fun. I don't feel drunk, just have the shakes & I hope that doesn't mean I'll be sick come a few hours. :( It's good to see old faces, connect with current friends, make new ones along the way, & of course gossip about the ugly chick across the way who's uglying up her face even more by giving gnarly looks in your direction for no specific reason. Life once again. It's been a long day.

My Mom turns 50 on the 29th of July. I need an awesome present to get her, any ideas?

Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!
